Kindy shorts and a backpack.

This is a first for me.  I am blogging this from my new phone and just crossing my fingers that it is going to work.

Our number 3 child started kindy last week, and although he has no need for new clothes thanks to the generosity of some dear friends hand me downs, I felt I still needed to sew him something to mark the occasion.

So I decided on a back pack and pair of shorts.

The shorts were made using a Japanese sewing pattern from "Happy Homemade Kids", and the bag made from a Spoonflower fabric that I can't quite remember the name of printed on a heavy cotton twill.

  1. I stumbled upon your blog and when i saw this post, i was inspired to make some shorts for myself (because hey, they look really really cute).
So i bought some heavy cotton twill from spoonflower but now i’m kinda stuck. I was wondering how you prepared the fabric before using it (did you prewash/dry and if so, how?) and how you treat it now (just throw it in the machine with the rest of the laundry??).
Because i don’t want to ruin everything before i even start.
